What is Tibb-e-Unani

Tibb-e-Unani is an ancient system of treatment based on old Greek principles of Medical Science. This system has developed by Muslim Medical Scientists. The most developed form of this system can be observed in Sub Continent Indo Pak which is actually the outcome of the merger of the ancient Greek and ancient Indian system of treatment Ayurveda. According to Greek principles all the human beings, all the food and medicinal stuff is divided into four types. These are: Hot and Moist, Hot and Dry, Cool and Moist and Cool and Dry. Modern Medical Science has divided the human blood with respect to the transfusion and cross matching. Human Blood in accord with the principles of Tibb-e-Unani is comprised of four elements which are called AKHLAT-E-ARBA. They are 1. DAMM (Effect: Hot and Moist. Appearance: Red), 2. SAFRA (Hot and Dry. Yellow), 3. BALGHAM (Cool and Moist. White) and  4. SAODA (Cool and Dry. Black). Every human being on the planet has one of the above mentioned AKHLAAT dominant in his body that determines MIZAJ of the person. Domination of that KHALAT, which causes most of the diseases in that particular body, is controlled with the use of the medicines and foods of adverse effect.
